Additional Participation
Groups and Business
Ways to help orphans
- Collect change-Ask individuals to put their loose change in
a specified container.
- Do a construction project-Provide materials to build or repair an
orphanage.
- Sponsor a child-Give to a relief organization who assist children
who are orphans.
- Parties with a purpose-Give the amount of money you would have
spent on a group or office party.
- Collect school supplies-Fill boxes with school supplies.
- Join the ONE Campaign to Make Poverty History (www.one.org).
- Fill a Birthday box-Fill a box with items such as balloons, streamers,
confetti, candles, and cake mixes to be sent for birthday parties.
- Create and distribute a one-page fact sheet on the plight of orphans.
- Raise funds-Organize a marathon or yard sale.
- Schedule a speaker-Ask someone who is involved in assisting
orphans to speak to your group or business.
Other
The National Day of Care is a Christian faith-based initiative which
encourages all Americans, all faiths, or those with no faith affiliation
to participate. If you or your community of faith are not aligned with
Christian beliefs, and want additional information regarding observing
